The QuickcutGB Direct Cut Attachment for self-propelled forage harvesters was originally designed in New Zealand about 7 years ago. Since then it has been refined and developed into todays model which is now being built in Great Britain. At it's heart is an 18ft (5.60metre) disc mowerbar feeding the crop onto an auger which delivers it directly into the feedrollers and chopping cylinder. The solid construction, welded seams and mostly standard off-the-shelf components make for simple maintenance. It is easily mounted from it's transport trailer (which is supplied with it), latched to the machine with only one drive-shaft to connect. It can be fitted to Claas, John Deere and New Holland forage harvesters. Substantial outputs up to 9 acres (4 ha) /hour have been claimed by satisfied owners. All crops and crop combinations present no problems to the machine which will work down to 1.5inches (40mms) height for laid crops or that lawn-like finish. For busy contractors with tight schedules and demanding customers, this attachment allows plenty of acres to be harvested in what is usually a very short window of opportunity. Production facilities for this handbuilt machinery are limited, so early ordering is a necessity. |
